This service has polygon layers for the following boundary types: State, Counties, Cites, Towns, Cities and Towns combined, Villages, and Indian Territories. In addition, there are separate shoreline layers for the State layer and the County layer. Boundaries are at 1:24,000-scale positional accuracy except for the shoreline in State_Shoreline and Counties_Shoreline which is being adjusted to 1:24,000-scale positional accuracy as part of ongoing work. Boundary changes are made as needed and based on authoritative sources. See metadata for each layer for additional information. Additional metadata, including field descriptions, can be found at the NYS GIS Clearinghouse: https://gis.ny.gov/civil-boundaries. This map service is available to the public.
